As for London termini, Euston and Liverpool Street had the most atmosphere for me. Euston (the old one, of course) was a strange mix of the grand and the ramshackle. Liverpool Street had fine architecture resounding to the strange chuffing of all those standing N7s, while some tracks in the middle almost cut the station in two.

Yes your correct kudu about the ex-LSWR 0-4-4T M7s working the ECS to & from Clapham carriage sidings into & out of Waterloo for many years long before the arrival of the ex-LMS Ivatt 2-6-2Ts taking over some of those ECS duties during the 1960s (along with some B.R.standard 4MT 2-6-4Ts as well) and as for the ex-GWR 0-6-0 pannier tanks working in & out of Waterloo station you can imagine wot Nine Elms locomen thought of them!!. lol ha ha ha...kudu wrote:I remember M7s doing that job, Mickey. As for London terminus stations I also use to like during the 1970s Marylebone, st.Pancras & Broad Street stations and even the modern looking Euston station of the British Rail era of the 1960s as well.
