I recently read an advert from Jon Riley of Finescale Brass regarding his 7mm V2 model.
It referred to Low Love Fronted Type 1 and Type 2 Tenders.
as well as High Fronted Type 1 and Type 2 Tenders.
It was my belief that the V2 pulled one of three types of Tender, the High Fronted Type, Low Fronted Type or the Flared sided type.
Could anyone assist with clarification,please.
Regards.

Re: V2 Tenders in BR days.
Hi Guys,
I was clearly correct in my first assumptions, but I have kindly had clarification from John Riley of “ Finescale Brass” as follows :-
Type 1 is the first 10 locos they had a different slide arrangement for the inside cylinder in front of the cylinder block
Type 2 the rest
Low fronted is with the tool boxes long cut away at the front side.
High fronted no tool boxes short cut away at the front side.
Originally the first 65 had low fronted tenders but obviously in BR days they swopped around so a photo of the loco you fancy is a must
So in principle
60800 to 60810 type 1 low fronted
60811 to 60865 type 2 low fronted
60866 onwards type 2 high fronted
There were not many with flared tenders 12 in LNER days. I can only find pictures of 60825, 60840 & 60865 in BR days but there will be more
Regards, Derek.

With regard to the flared style of GS tender you may wish to have a look at the latest edition of RAIL magazine page 63. There's a good colour photo of a V2 at Hawick, rear 3/4 view from above. Apart from the detail its simply a lovely picture too
