Graeme,
Considering all the glorious locomotives you've created, this humble 0-6-0 is a triumph. Looks even better in black on the other side!

P.s. What did Mr Wright think of the Resin Intruder?

Glad you like it Paul. I wouldn't wish to misrepresent Tony. He seemed quite happy with the loco but you ought to ask him yourself. I think the idea of relying on a resin chassis does not convince him at present, and frankly why should it? The arrangement has to be seen as experimental.Flying Fox 34F wrote:

Re: Atlantic's works: An "A" Engine
I was only wondering what he thought, after his comments at the last Grantham session.
I agree resin for a chassis is very experimental, but 50 years ago some folk were using card and wood. Plasticard is proven, in fact one supplier of large scale kits uses laser cut stuff for chassis' and even I have a dabbled in it for the power bogie on a 15mm scale railcar. It seems ok.
I suspect quite a few folk will be on the look out for the K2 and J6 fleet in September. You certainly know how to attract attention.

Blimey! These things breed like rabbits, or given that the rapid multiplication is largely due to a rainy day (thwarting other activities), maybe a better analogy is sprouting like dandelions?

You might even - with a very long wind-assisted downhill run - find you're at risk of actually making a bit of money from this burgeoning range of mouldings and etchings. Not much, admittedly, but the thought is there. And it does take away some of the drudgery of your day job.Atlantic 3279 wrote:Blimey! These things breed like rabbits, ....

Re: Atlantic's works: An "A" Engine
Fingers crossed.
Digressing once again at this point, curiosity made me offer up my resin J6 cab to another drawing yesterday. I suspect that with only some relatively simple trimming the cab would also suit a Klondyke. I just need to wait for the prices of black NRM Atlantics to drop. As if.

There could a small host of different Diagrams of boiler assemblies to help scratchbuilders......

Interesting work as ever Graeme. Not sure I'm totally sold on resin chassis. Metal has a reassuring solidity to it.

It will certainly be better than those horrible whitemetal chassis castings that certain kit manufacturers thought workable, which in my experience just needed throwing away. Grantham will be a stern test of the concept I think.mlgilbert30 wrote: Interesting work as ever Graeme. Not sure I'm totally sold on resin chassis. Metal has a reassuring solidity to it.

Re: Atlantic's works: An "A" Engine
I'm watching the chassis debate with interest, it would be good if this turns out satisfactory instead of having to rely on whitemetal or RTR approximations.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
