This is all coming back to me like the words of an old song! Weren't the braking trials from Barkston that Sunday morn in 1938 supposed to be 'a test' of the QSA valves newly fitted to the Coronation Stock? BTW never read the Great Western Rly Journal - I have brought some home from work and they should have highly addictive warnings attached to them. A very professional publication indeed....
A topper is proper if the train's a non-stopper!
