NER Snowplough Livery detail

Post by Bryan »

George sent me this link re the ebay item of The North Eastern Railway and its engines.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/North-Eastern ... 3a9ce1bdd0

Inside there is a shot of Snowplough No 1
What got me thinking.
Why are certain areas of the body framing Highlighted?
Was the plough in Works Grey with some edges left in Indian Red or other colour ?
Or some other process.

Any ideas?

Could it be some kind of ex-works spruced up livery for promotion with it being the first plough?
