You're too literal Micky. Bryan got it - North Pole Junction.

Kudu
I suppose that would beat Coldham Lane; and Cold Norton if there was ever a box there. :) (And don't know whether any railway feature was ever named after the locality of Freezy Water.)

This is about as obscure an answer that I can think of, but was 1981 the last time that there was a Royal wedding in the City Of London (aka 2870)?

Strang, As you are the only one to have a crack, here is a clue.
It is more sporting than a Royal Wedding, and it is specifically 2870 not 61670!!

Must be something to do with the FA cup then. Did 2870 carry the names of both the 1981 finalists (Spurs and Man. City), before being renamed when streamlining was fitted?

You are correct, Mr Wiske. I looked it up, and 2870 was Tottenham Hotspur for 4 months in 1937 after originally being named Manchester City.

I would have never thought of that, mainly because I haven't a clue which teams took part in any FA Cup final, not even the most recent one.

Speaking of footballers, As a Sunderland fan with the class 66 logo as my FB icon I have never seen a picture of our rivals with a Newcastle Nameplate I have seen many pics of the Essex Regiment in service but none while she carried Newcastle plates. Can anyone point me to a pic so I can link it for the Newcastle members on my fb site.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

A photo of 2858 carrying Newcastle United nameplates would be very rare, as the plates only lasted for 4 weeks on the loco in 1936.
