This came up on another thread.....here... but perhaps it ought to have a thread of it's own, suitable for speculation in these short winter days.....
A cold clear afternoon. and an overgrown side track leading from one of the County Durham cycle paths leads to a derelict shed supported by a stone embanked wall. Peering through cracks in the doors the level beams of the sun reveal.......a C6, perhaps No.2931, still in dusty LNER Green, having somehow been removed from Gateshead shed in November 1947

im not so grand as you but after kicking the doors of Kelso shed down there are two dusty tank engines an NER F8 and an NBR C16 mmmm what a hole those two could fill in preservation.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
