Re: GWR-LNER joint Trivia
The RCTS books don't list any - and it includes a number of "on the accountant's books" and loaners - eg. the S160s, WD 2-10-0s, and the 1938 Tube Stock (still in service on the Isle of Wight!)
Unless it is a trick question, in which case the D49s had a number of Counties, and the B17s included a number of Halls and Castles, plus one Manor!

Re: GWR-LNER joint Trivia
There were quite a few Castles amongst the B17's and a few pacific Saints and Counties. Don't know about Granges.
Re: GWR-LNER joint Trivia
At a rough count (not finished yet), concerning locos alone I have come up with
3 Kings
15 Halls
7 Castles
1 Manor
34 counties
That's just with 5 minutes counting, and not including station names.

I'm certain there are more (including Granges) but I don't have the time to go through all my listings.

Me again,
Just had a lesson cancelled and couldn't resist the challenge.
I have just gone through all the information I have, and, including stations and loco names, I make it:
7 Kings
14 Castles
3 Manors
1 Hall
17 Saints
35 Counties
and I can't find any Granges
I'm sure these figures aren't correct, but that's the best I can come up with.

Re: GWR-LNER joint Trivia
And another: Duke Of Rothesay, and what about Earl Marischal, Earl Haig and Earl Beatty?
Re: GWR-LNER joint Trivia
The original question didn't ask if the LNER had any Granges. However since someone mentioned it there is always the location Ryehope Grange.
