Colour of floor in teak carriages - what is suitable?

I have acccess to the various books by Harris and I have read through much of what is available on the internet about the restoration of teak stock (by the LNER-CA and the SVR) and I am still not sure that I could make a decent selection when faced with racks of model paint.

What colour / make do you recommend for painting the floor of Gresley compartments / vestibules? And for the decolite in the luggage area?

What type of carriage are you wanting, 1st, or 3rd, I assume when you mention compartments you are after a side corridor type. There are several types of floor finish and colour that have been used by the LNER depending on the year.
eg- 1st Restaurant car 1924 floor - green 'Spenwood' rubber No. 5, toilet brown 'Spenwood' rubber No.6, corridor cocoa fibre mat.
Open 3rd Pantry 1924, nothing mentioned to seating area, vestibule cocoafibre mat, corridor red cork matting, toilet brown 'Spenwood' rubber No.6, pantry lead sheet.
Later 1930 3rd Open just says floor Korkoid.
1934 Tourist stock, depending what type of carriage, could have the following colours, green, brown,grey marbled (to sample) and blue to open brakes, the 1938 stock was the same.

Info gets less on colour the newer the stock, maybe the specifications say more but I don't have them to hand.

I could find no ref for a side corridor 3rd with blue carpets as the ebay example.

Corridor and compartments brown.
Decolite pinky red.

Dave has covered most of the options but if its specific paint numbers you want, for the brown Korkoid used in 3rd class compartments I use Humbrol leather No 62. The toilets had Brown spenwood rubber of which I have never seen an example so can't comment. The decolite flooring used in the brake van floors starts as a bright pink colour when new but soon tones down through a mucky maroon colour to an almost brown hue. I use Humbrol brick red 70. Hope this helps.
