Re: "Grantham - The Streamliner Years"
Not had a posting for while, so - for those who do not frequent the 'other place' - please enjoy some new pix from a recent gathering.
A predominantly ex-GNR rake. Jonathan's Quint set are vehicles 4-8 in this formation, with a GN BFK and all third clerestory for company.
Ill-fated B16 925 head the other way with the delightful van train.
The Raven pacific is always a popular visitor.
North end meeting.
C12 Station pilot fusses about with a local set.
Shed grouping.
'Robert' stands on the turntable (this was an attempt to reproduce a photo from the G H F Atkins 'Loco Portraits' book).
The usual suspects!
Most photos courtesy of Mr Tony Wright.
In other news, I can reveal that Grantham's first full exhibition appearance will be (most appropriately) at the Grantham Rail Show, September 12th/13th 2015. Be good to see you there (those that won't already be behind the barriers anyway)

Oh, Graham,
Were there no shows nearer to my home?
The traveling will be horrendous.

Great photos!
Next year's Grantham Show will be something to look forward to, though there is no hurry for it to come round - life goes by quickly enough!

[Whilst all those of you who live in the UK probably know who is who. could I ask you to annotate the 'group photo' for me to enable me to put a name to faces with whom I may have corresponded on here and elsewhere?
Cheers from 13000 miles away,

Back in Oz now after a holiday in UK, the highlight seeing my first D49 ever, at Loughboro, only taken 63 years.
Best wishes to all of you!
Cheers,

Re: "Grantham - The Streamliner Years"
How nice a surprise to open the latest copy of Model Rail and find an excellent article on Grantham.
Re: "Grantham - The Streamliner Years"
Glad you enjoyed it - hoping to receive my comp. copy shortly(!)
For anyone else who may be unaware, the 'about to hit the stands' latest issue of Model Rail (MR202) has an article about our trip with Grantham to Barrow Hill in February and the running of the 35 A4s, illustrated with a series of photographs taken by Chris Nervard. Do not delay - rush out and buy your copy today... er... on Fri-day

Article was a good read. Looking forward to seeing the layout at a show. Hopefully I shall be able to go to Grantham next September.jwealleans wrote:Subs copies arrived yesterday. Mr King's agent is handling my request for an autograph as we speak.

Yes JW, BB and myself managed a word with you and Tom at Barrow Hill but not the elusive pimpernel himself.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Re: "Grantham - The Streamliner Years"
Finally got to read the thing (MR article) myself yesterday. Quite pleased and only minor tinkering with my original text. I have enlightened the editor as to the difference between a Gresley A1 and A3 (ref the caption describing 'Tracery' as an A3)LNER4479 wrote:Glad you enjoyed it - hoping to receive my comp. copy shortly(!)

Meanwhile, some further signals under construction:
Middle one is actually destined for a few miles further south at Tony W's Little Bytham layout; other two are for Grantham.
