Rail Closures!

Post by sandwhich »

With costs reported to be rising as to the running of the railway, the franchising muddle (costs again) and the almost certain fact that no more diesel units are to built and the fact that some pacers units will run into the 2020s, and even the cost of wiring up being questioned, I will not be in the least bit surprised that after the next General Election whispers will come from both the dft and treasury that rail closures should be considered to cut said costs. They try it on every so often remember the early 1970s, 1984 (Settle & Carlisle, Marylebone) and privatisation (let them do what they like was one view), I feel that it will be tried yet again.

Ay up!

The major problem with all this is too many people at the top can write their own salary checks and take too much money out. Then, when they (inevitably) screw up, we find that taking the "rewards" is one thing but the responsibility?

Nope, they find a scapegoat.

Too many "pure" managers who are too greedy and no one even tries to control it.
If I ain't here, I'm in Bilston, scoffing decent chips at last!!!!
