rolling stock pulled by perregrine 4903

Post by trainboy »

Hi. Can anyone please advise on the passenger, and/or freight rolling stock pulled by Perrigrine 4903'
I am soon taking delivery of a Kingscale/Bowande live steam A4 and will want the correct rolling stock to pull. I understand Perrigrine ran from 1937?

There are records by Kenneth Oldham in Gresley Observer No. 39 of 4903 hauling the Up Scarborough Flier in August 1938. It was a Doncaster loco at this time.

Thank you John.
Any idea where I can find a copy of this Gresley observer No 39?

The GO 39 will tell you little more than I have.

There is also a front-on shot of 4903 at KX with the Up Scarborough Flier headboard, dated 1939, on the cover of a GO.

The formation of the Up train is below.

The Brake first is LNER Diagram 149
The Dining Car to GNR Diagram 76, a 52' 6" vehicle.
Pantry Third LNER D151
2 x Corridor Third LNER D115
Brake Third LNER D212 (end vestibule type)

Whitby BCK LNER D175

In theory, the actual numbers below had to be used.

Tommy Knox's Pacifics site may well have many more sightings of 4903.

Hope this helps,

John
