A3 Mudhole Doors

Would anyone have a drawing or even a close up photo of a typical mud hole door and surround from an A3 that I could scale.
The ones in question are the three that are on each side of the firebox boiler cladding.

Sorry I can't help with a drawing or photo,but I assume you are aware of the different locations on the different Boilers. For example 94A & 107 etc. Not telling you how to suck eggs, just trying to be helpful.

this is my A2/2 60506 "The Beast" . It's a very close up and does no favour's to the DJH kit
but does show the Mudholes. Might just help.

Thanks for the replies. I am building a live steam "COCK O' THE NORTH" in gauge 1.I am at the point of finishing the boiler cleading details.
The photo was taken at the British Train Show here near Toronto earlier this year.

That looks like a beautiful model you are building there Alan, very nice... as it happens i asked the same question on this forum some time ago for one of my own live steam projects. I was helped greatly by fellow member Eddie who sent me a drawing of the mudhole plugs for a Gresley boiler, I'm sure he won't mind me posting the image here for your benefit.

Now that I have a dimension drawing to scale from I can enlarge the picture to determine the sizes.
I have been on that footplate many times and my Grandfather used to drive A3s out of Peterborough's New England shed before he retired in 1958.

I'm very jealous Alan...I love Gresley Pacific's and in particular 4472 although to date I still haven't seen her in the flesh. I have a number of models of her and currently building a 5" gauge live steam model of her for which I'm going to great lengths to accurately follow the prototype paying close attention to all details, no mater how small. Will be many years before she's ready for the mainline but that day will happen....

nah... the prototype will be on the mainline way before me.... However I believe Riley's when they say 2015.....took a look at their latest updates earlier.... great work... she'll be in great shape soon and hopefully be able to show off for generations to come. It's very helpful for me seeing Riley's photo's, helps with details not always seen and so far what I have seen follows the design that i'm working too very closely, probably due to the fact that the designer worked at Doncaster, I also use works drawings for guidance where required...

I will be going to Montreal soon to the Expo Rail Museum there. A couple of my friends here who are also ex pats helped arrange the return of Dominion Of Canada to the UK for the recent celebrations and I want to see the new paintwork. It is a 6 hour drive from here but it will be worth it.
