By e-mail today, Hattons have belatedly revised the delivery date for the Railroad model to "July". I thought that might be the ultimate truth, as the nearest thing I had to a reliable inside source suggested a while ago that it would be July for both versions, although this was in the midst of a confusing number of rapidly changing forecast dates. None of the forecasts referred to a later date I'm pleased to say.......

I guess they are going to time the delivery to co-incide with the debut of 2007 Prince of Wales

Latest bulletin says on or after 16th July, so that's "half-past July" already.

When I told my mother it would be coming at the earliest in July, she turned around and said if I wanted to I could have it put away for Christmas. This is hilarious (in the way of thinking that if you didn't laugh you'd cry), as the loco was supposed to be my 2013 Christmas present....

Hello

The shop I'm getting mine through might not get any. . And I ordered mine on the day after the announcement. This is the thing with living on the other side of the world. And yet hornby models get made in China, sent to England and then distributed. Why don't they distribute them from China. Anyone who doesn't live in England gets second Priority.

Thanks Lachlan

Hi All
I've just had an interesting experience with Hatton's ordering system with regard to a pre-order for the P2. I logged into my account with the intension of purchasing some bits and pieces and when adding the first item to my shopping cart my pre ordered P2 appeared on the first line as if being reordered, very strange. I don't remember this type of thing happening previously, pre-orders always stayed independent of any other order. Needless to say I abandoned my account and made the purchase via the guest account, not wanting to loose my place in the queue. I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but could there be skulduggery afoot.

Cheers
Paul

It's a 'feature' of Hatton's ordering system. See the Cock O' The North Thread.

I think you took the safest (less ambiguous) route by ordering as a guest though.

I had the same thing with my order which I put in around April 2013.

It mysteriously moved to Oct 2013, I later realised that tied in with another order I did then.

So far I have not received any notice at all from Hattons as to what is happening.

From MREMag:

"When will we see some new models? - Here's a list.

P2 – End of July

Drummond 7000 – October

D16 – October......."

So the P2 date slides yet again

And even that I gather may not be true, if the August dates allegedly sourced from the Hornby trade website and leaked onto RMweb are actually reliable.

Whilst I prefer to give Hornby the benefit of the doubt, I now begin to wonder how many times should a "change of story" be accepted before total incompetence or outright lies are suspected??

Hi All
Tried to find the P2 review that Tony Wright did for BRM YouTube channel tonight, seems to have disappeared. Do they take down their reviews after a while? They still have some fairly old layout tour type videos, so anyone have idea what might have happened to it?

Cheers

Thanks Mick. That sounds promising. Even though the date(s) continue to slip, this has to be some kind of progress.

Features I noticed: removable front steps, flywheel & flangeless rear wheels.
