On the weekend of the 5th & 6th October, the railway held it's Anniversary Gala, 125 years since it opened, back in 1888. Resident locos Beatrice, Norman (masquerading as Austerity 68005) and the L&Y A class were all running. The railway hired Sir Berkeley and No. 20, 'Jennifer'. The latter is based at the Llangollen Railway and did not run over the weekend, due to problems from a lack of lubrication; it's diagram was worked by the class 04 diesel.
