Fascinating indeed. I wonder if there's any regular inspection of the torque of the studs?

The system was only fitted in 2007.
Interesting to note (on Wikipedia) that a similar galvanised system was fitted at opening to stop water dropping on open carriages, but kept getting dislodged by the blast from locomotives.

i remember many years ago we had some long bolts like that to resin in ,so called the rep in and he demonstrated how to fix them . he said of these glass capsules would do the job just put two in the hole and mix with the bolt wait resin to set then tighten the bolt ten minutes later the bolt pulled out the hole with barely any resin on it , we ended up putting up to ten capsules in the holes before the bolt would bite ,now we use resin out of a tube and fill the hole then insert the bolt.
