Renumbering a preserved locomotive

Out of interest, if someone wanted to rename and renumber a locomotive for a charter, photographic event etc, how much would this cost - does anyone have any prior examples? Presumably a lot of variables such as time needed to do so, whether the customer was supplying the nameplates/numberplates, length of time wanted for, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with regards to this...
