What would be involved in getting Mallard a limited boiler ticket next year so it could be steamed in the NRM yards? It would be icing on the cake to go with the 2 A4s that are coming from overseas for the event.

I unfortunately don't think it would be worth speculating, as it's unlikely the NRM has the time or spare money. I heard recently that the only reason the NRM did railfest was to get the required number of visitors to get enough funding for the A4 events next year.

Not completely forgotten it would seem.
According to this press release she is to be refurbished
and will receive a new coat of paint.

Ooh, I like the idea of Mallard getting a fresh coat of paint, hopefully with the correct shade of garter blue. It'll be nice to walk past her and not have to cringe at all the chipped paint on her :)
