Re: Signal box closure plan
This charts the planned last days of most remaining ex LNER (and older) signal boxes. Probably a good idea to get out there with the camera
Very useful and thanks

We will have to see how accurate this plan is.
Subject to a lot of finance for a start.

Re: Signal box closure plan
You have to remember this is Network Rails "Vision" for the future and is not set in stone. Where they will get the money from to do it is the big question. This is their latest fad of the moment, but anybody who knows how NR works will know this will probably change.

... For example, I remember the 1970s BR Plan to control the whole Southern Region from 'only' 13 signal boxes.TRESTROL wrote:You have to remember this is Network Rails "Vision" for the future and is not set in stone. Some of them came to be [e.g., no doubt part of the plan;- London Bridge, "Victoria"(Clapham Jn,), Dartford, Wimbledon(?), Eastleigh(?) ]. But many never happened, either at all, or in the planned form, I think.
