Last A4 through Sheffield in steam days

Can anyone help clear this up please? from October 1964 I worked in Laycock Engineering's drawing office which was was the top floor of a large building alongside the line at Millhouses. It was halfway betwen the shed and the station, on the east side of the line. Most expresses were Peak diesels, however, very ocasionally at around 1520 hrs a southbound would be steam hauled, usually by a V2. You could here them as they rouned the curve protected by the huge sandstone embankment about a mile nearer Sheffield. As they came round the curve on to the straight nothing was barring the sound and the slogging of the 3 cylinders was music to the ears. The few of us that were train enthusiast would make our way to the windows where the drawings were filed pretinding to be working. Now here is my question. On this train there were in addition to the few V2's, 2 A1's appeared, 1 A2 appeared and also an A4. This story I have told to many people, however one person would not believe me about the A4 as I feel it would have been in 1965 rather than 1964. This is becouse, as I remenber the steam workings were spread out over a period and the A4 was the last I saw on this train. Can anyone tell me what this working would be and what would the A4 likely to have been? It would seem this working came from York becouse of the type of steam loco. My memory fails me as to the actuall locos.
Thanking you in anticipation.
