Talking of spamcans, where is the 'City of Wells' these days. I saw once in the early 70s stripped down in the yard at Haworth.

Still on the KWVR? I read somewhere that it is nearing the end of a two-decade-long overhaul. Will it keep the Giesl exhaust?

Ay up!

I understand that it will be in almost as built condition so I think the quick answer re Giesl exhausts is no. The only mod will be a screw reverse rather than the steam reverse.

Title amended

Was surprised to see 34070 'Manston' in steam, I remember seeing and photographing Manston behind the main shed at the Great Central Railway at Loughborough when I was a kid (late 90's), tenderless, with faded paint

I once saw Manston a couple of years ago when onboard a Gatwick Express heading for foreign parts she was at the head of a train about 5 miles out of Victoria.
