GCR & The Double-Headed Paniers

Post by Brown Jack »

Hi,
Went for the panniers today (19/11/11) on their outward bound journey, while waiting for their return, paid a brief visit to the GCR. Photos can be seen at http://trev11.zenfolio.com
Thanks

Hi Trev

Impressive, as usual. I also had a look at the SVR photos, very goo - you appear to know the Severn Valley for photospots far better than I do. Mind you, I only go about once every couple of years, and you spent nearly 3 days at the gala I managed one.

Keep up the good work
Ian

Hi Ian,
Thanks for the comments, it is always nice to get some feed back. As for the Severn Valley, that was the first time I had ever been, I think if I am going to drive that far, I might as well make the best of it.
Cheers

Hi Trev

If you founds such good spots in a couple of days you must have some sort of 'homing' instinct. I'll get in touch next time I go and crib from your list.

The distance is what makes me reluctant to go. Was the Caley Jumbo the reason you went - it was for me!!

All the best
Ian

Hi Ian,

I think it was the King and the Cali that made my mind up. The last time I had seen a King (6000 King George V) was about 1957 in Chester Station and that turned out to be the only one I ever saw, until this one. By the way, I never mentioned who I went to the SV with

Hi Trev

It's late, and I'm tired, it's been a pig of a week!! I'm afraid you lost me somewhere in that I didn't ask who you went with.

I never saw a King in BR service but I've seen, and photographed all 3 preserved ones. By the time I became a Southerner (1964) the Kings were history.

Ian :)

PP,
What I was pointing out was, you seem to be giving me credit for finding some good photographic spots, when all the time I had help from a friend who had been before.
