GCR 'GR8 Escape' & 'The Midlander' - 9/4/2011

Post by steamingyorkshire »

Another glorious day with the added bonus of 6201 passing the GC's doorstep!

First thing on today’s agenda was LMS No.6201 'Princess Elizabeth' with 'The Midlander' seen near Normanton on Soar.

The Great Central Railway was holding a fund raising event in aid of the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway. In service was 45160, 8624, 48305, 3850, 2807, 5542 & 47406. Full coverage is available on the 'Part 2: Spring Steam 2011' DVD.

Due to it being that time of year again, assignment crazy at Uni I hadn't had chance to upload any video's from the event.

I've uploaded a couple of shots from the GCR onto the website available Here.

Reckon the Turkish 8F looks great on the TPOs.

That red 'un looks better than I thought it would. I feel a model coming on...
If I ain't here, I'm in Bilston, scoffing decent chips at last!!!!
