As usual, very good shake-free filming. The chime sounds neat. The crew of the Festiniog Railway USA-built 'Mountaineer' operated the seldom used chime whistle on one occasion while I was filming at Tanygrisiau and it fairly echoed around the mountains.

We have a small cottage in the mountains above Llan Ffestiniog and, on a clear day, we can just see trains on the Ffestiniog Railway as they breast the summit near llyn Ystradau. Depends on the driver really. The "peeeeeep" whistles, to me, lack charcter. The chimes not only really suit the double Fairlies but echo in a very mellow fashion round the hills. The Stanier hooters sound really mournful and raise the hairs on the back of the neck. Whatever I'm doing, if I can see the railway, I stop and watch the train.
Wonderful!!
