Hi anyone,
Can anyone help me.
I have just recently purchased an LNER cast metal gate sign at an auction what is probably a reproduction.
I really could do with some expertise in authenticated it. The sign has one hole either end and rounded corners. The back is not painted and the 060 is not spaced appart. The lettering is of equal height and has no words emphasised in larger text as some I have seen on the internet.
I await someones thoughts and views !!!

i have just cleared out my grandma's garage and was found a Train sign and was wondering if i could get a identification of the plate and see how much it is worth as i have seen an exact same plate except different number been sold for 55GBP.

Sounds like a standard Wagon D Plate.
D due to its shape but on its side.
£55 seems slightly on the high side of average.
Plenty on Ebay and at Railwayana Auctions at many locations.

As for the wagon, 16 tons capacity would suggest a standard 16 ton steel mineral wagon. Generally wagons had 12 ton capacities at the time. £30-£40 seems to be a reasonable estimate.
