I managed to get out of work for 20 minutes this morning and caught 60163 passing through Chathill. It occured to me afterwards that, give or take a week or two, it will be 45 years since I last saw an A1 there. I remember standing at the crossing with my father in the autumn of 1965 and seeing one go through, and him telling me that it could be the last one I would ever see.
I never believed that all these years later I would be able to stand there and see another.
