Recent Sale catalogue with prices.

The above is worth browsing through many items of interest but some not exactly correct. I bet Sir Nigel is rotating in his coffin at the pic below.

If he is then someone needs to remind him that the Green Arrow scheme was a joint initiative by the "big four" to try and combat the growing competition from road transport. As one of the four the GWR also operated it hence the image on the poster. 4771 appeared at about the same time, hence it took the name of the scheme (as did the long wheelbase brake vans - both were intended for fast goods trains).

I thought the scheme was initiated by the LNER hence the name for the V2, then subsequently adopted by British Railways who finished it off and introduced Red Star as the express parcel freight.

No 52D, it was a joint initiative. Made sense to cooperate, especially as many consignments would cross inter-company borders.
