A snap of the DUCHESS OF HAMILTON,at the NRM.All credit to the polishers!!Their "streamlining" is okay,but not as good as LNER'S.I still think it's impressive though.

Apart from it been "Ell of a mess" (LMS) , its the dog's bo*****'s ! :D Try either a Tripod or a Monopod? I take my monopod with me most times.

I was in the NRM a couple of weeks ago and if you compare ours to thiers, ours is looking a bit tatty round the edges.

You can paint as many stripes on it as you like, it still looks like an upturned bath-tub! The Germans had some locos (Pacifics, a 4-6-4 design and even a big tank loco) that looked similar.

I admit to a sneaking admiration for the Duchesses without the streamlining, still it is good to have a representative of the streamlined form - if only to compare with the proper way to do it (4468!). Have I read that the LMS casing was pretty useless as a smoke deflector?
