This is my first post on this forum as a new member. I'm a volunteer at the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway, a former constituent company of the LNER.

This photo is of course 70013 Oliver Cromwell on a Cathedral's run between Liverpool St and Norwich on 23rd April 2009. Although not strictly an LNER locomotive, she is on former LNER metals! I captured her passing through Barham. :)

Welcome to the forums Justyn!

I've moved the thread to the non-LNER section, as it isn't really an LNER loco.
Nice picture though.

If you're an MSLR specialist: The MSLR pages of the Constituent Companies section are still waiting to be written...

Hi Richard,

Many thanks for the welcome, and moving this to the correct thread.

Yes I noticed that the MSLR part hasn't been written yet. I'm sure I'd be able to cobble together a short history of the MSLR for the relevant section of this website. :)

Hello,

On the subject of the Britannia class, I know that Oliver Cromwell was the only member of the class to remain in service following the closure of Carlisle Kingmoor on 30th December 1967. I have however heard that one or two class members worked trains on the 1st January 1968 despite their withdrawn status. Can anyone confirm this? I also believe that one class member was overhauled at Darlington North Road Works in 1965 or 1966. Does anyone know the identity of this loco?

Many Thanks,

Geraint80135

Geraint80135: There was a report in Railway World in 1968 that 70045 had worked a relief train to Scotland north from Carlisle in the early hours of 1/1/68.
In late December 1965 70004 was at Darlington North Road Works for light repairs.
