The signal box near Hartlepool was burnt down a few days ago causing delays on the Durham Coast Route, vandalism/cable theft I believe.

Whilst working just a little further north, installing a new ground frame in a cage made of galvanised palisade fencing, the 'locals' stood outside talking about how to get in and how much all the kit was worth in scrap... They also talked about taking it while we were still there.
