A question of Garratts...

Can I appeal for help with information on a pair of (planned) LMS Garratts...
1. Beyer Peacock Diagram No 95866.
It's mentioned in Locomotive Panorama V1, as a 2-6-2-2-6-2 design, from "Hughes" in 1924. Is it definitely not the same loco as was proposed by "Horwich" in 1923 (which admittedly was a 2-6-0-0-6-2 and has a diagram in Chronicles of Steam), and does anybody know any more about it? (The "" are because, as far as I remember Hughes worked at Horwich!)

2. Beyer Peacock Diagram No 127802.
Again, mentioned in LP1. This is a 4-6-2-2-6-4 design, proposed for the Toton-Brent coal trains. How it differs from the 1930 and 1948 proposals for Scotland, or the version in Living with London Midland Steam, I have no idea. Does anybody know anything else?

I asked on the LMS forum first, but it's a bit quiet over there...
One thing I've noticved, if all the proposals had come to pass, the LMS would have been Garratt heaven...

"Trains Illustrated" of November 1958 carries an article headed, "The Strong Pull" which mentions the LMS Garratts and gives an opinion as to why they didn't last very long.

You will have to go to The Museum Of Science & Industry In Manchester and look thought the Beyer Peacock papers to find any back ground to these drawings.
