Perth-Edinburgh DIrect. Restoring the link.

Our Politicians are harping on about restoring the direct rail link between Perth and Edinburgh via Glenfarg. They are so ill informed.
For starters the M90 Motorway is built on the track bed between Bridge of Earn and Dron, also through Glenfarg village itself.
When it was open, Glenfarg bank, speed restrictions due to mining subsidence beyond Kinross, the speed limit on the Forth Bridge etc. meant that the fastest train even then took 1 hour and 25 minutes.
I think they are flying a kite? Any thoughts from other members?
