There was an item on local TV stating there was a proposal to link Sheringham NNR station over the level crossing and onto the Anglia network. This would allow special steam trains to run from North Norfolk to other parts of the Anglia region. Any body else heard this story and what are the chances of it happening?
Cheers

I heard (and this was a few years ago), that it would be an ideal thing for them to do, but the planning, regulations, etc, etc. would be very expensive.
But then if the FR can build a new route through the middle of a town and include a level crossing across the busiest bridge in that town...

This is featured in both Steam Railway and Heritage Railway mags this month.
Apparently they may try for a low cost crossing with manual gates and limited amount of trains per year.

Just been on the Orbital Railway Link, well worth a look.
Exciting possibilities - Feasible but is it financially viable?
I guess time will tell.
