There is a collection of Railway Studies material held at Devon County Council's Passmore Edwards Centre (aka The Library), in Newton Abbot, Devon, UK.
The Collection includes, books, timetables, magazines and periodicals, plans and drawings, photographs and slides covering all UK railway engines, rolling stock, stations, structures, personnel, advertising, etc, and some UK-built engines abroad.
The Collection is open normal library hours and has a support group - The Friends of the Railway Studies Collection, who do identification of images for the database, currently at 55,000 images (July 2015).
