GCR Woodford Gala 13th June

Post by kieranhardy »

Here are my shots from a very wet trip to the GCR for their gala.

http://khardy.zenfolio.com/p534091552 (30 photos)

6 locomotives were in operation featuring visiting Ivatt 4MT No. 43106 & 9F No. 92212. The four residents were renumbered, 92214 ran as 92220 'Evening Star', 48624 ran as 48121, 45305 as 44814 and 47406 as 47203. Also featured are shots of the nearly overhauled BR (WR) Hall No. 6990 'Witherslack Hall'.

In the first and second colour photos above, why is the signal on the right hand side the wrong way around?

Very atmospheric pics, taken in the rain?

Thanks, yup all in the rain sadly!

I can only assume that signal is for shunting purposes into Swithland yard round the corner but other than that I wouldn't know.
