Many thanks for the great photos of Butler-Henderson[/i. It's a great pity that it isn't in operating condition, as the D11s were among the best 4-4-0s ever built in the UK. Not many many 4-4-0s could manage Marylebone to Manchester, including the gruelling forty miles across the Pennines. And they weren't even designed by you-know-who!
I remember when three or four D11s were allocated to Lincoln St Mark's sub-shed in the mid- to late-1950s to work the Lincoln to Nottingham and Derby trains. I bet they caused apoplexy when they showed up at Derby Midland! One even took over from a failed B1 on the Cleethorpes - Bournemouth service at Market Rasen and took it as far as Birmingham.

52H, Thank you very much for your comment.
Pyewipe Junction,
When I was spotting in the mid to late fifties, I would sometime go on the Doncaster-Sheffield Victoria line. A few D11s were quite common along there, including, Butler Henderson, Somme, Ypres and Zeebrugge. Happy Days
