A friend tells me that there are plans to build a tram route between Nottingham and Kimberley along a disused railway line.
I can guess its the old Great Northern Friargate line.
Does anyone have any more knowledge?

Re: Nottingham Kimberley tram route
There are no firm 'plans', but there has been talk of several possible future extensions to the Nottingham tram network, Kimberley, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, West Bridgford, Arnold and Gedling being a few, whether the old GNR line is useable remains to be seen, I would have thought it would be suitable. I'd much prefer to see trams running out to Gedling, then I could get the tram straight to the railway station at Nottingham and not gave to drive to workearlswood nob wrote:A friend tells me that there are plans to build a tram route between Nottingham and Kimberley along a disused railway line.
