The last time when more than one Brit was in action must have been '67.

I had a week at Kingmoor under the bridge in 1966/67 by virtue of a rail rover ticket and must have seen over half the class but cant remember any with nameplates.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

when I was about, oooh, seven, I was taken to Leeds and spent some minutes with my nose pressed against Beatties' window watching a Wrenn rebuilt WC charging around a rack in the window.

No way could we afford such a lovely piece of die-cast so I recieved a Tri-Ang Brit for Christmas that year. I was happy. It was green and much the same shape PLUS my Brit had a clag unit which I restored to working condition this summer!

And so began a lifetime's love of most things BR Standard.

Oops! Mrs BB's just removed my bottle of single malt... :cry:
