I believe the reason why i can't remember the 03:50hrs Hitchin newspapers being shunted from the Downside of the line across to the Upside of the line at Hatfield for unloading purposes other then the previously mentioned occasion that i posted before was i believe that the old barrow crossing was still in use situated between the south end of the Downside platforms across to the north end of the Up slow line platform which obviously crossed the Down fast, Up fast & Up slow lines at that point which still hadn't then been abolished in 1974-75 period so the newspapers were unloaded from the 03:50hrs newspapers train on the Downside of the line and then brought on station barrows across the barrow crossing and up onto the Up slow line platform.

The barrow crossing at the north end of WGC station (outside the box) was closed and lifted .... " " .... at that time .... " " .... and presumedly at Hatfield as well this would have been sometime around 1975 i believe?.

Quite possibly Micky. I know Hatfield barrow crossing made it into the post-resignalling era, as it gained 'barrow crossing white lights' with signs [with legends something like 'When light is lit, Cross with care' 'If light is out, do not cross'], but I don't remember when it was closed.
It was probably in a Section 'C' that someone may have 'archived' somewhere.
