Found this on RMweb and thought i would post it here. Two steam locos between York and Church Fenton on parrallel lines headind in the same direction,Classic.

A lovely view of the 5MT working "flat out." Judging by the position of the radius rod, she must have been in something like 40% cut off.
If I ain't here, I'm in Bilston, scoffing decent chips at last!!!!

That would certainly get the spotters jumping up and down at Colton Bridge.

And as for Ferrybridge Flyer were you at Bolton Percy?

Now that's what I call a video! plenty of action.
Could'nt see the load Oliver Cromwell was pulling, the black5 was very lightly loaded.

No Bryan,i was at work sadly!!Wish i'd been there,but after so long on't dole,maybe i shouldn't mither about being at work!Speaking of which,i'd best get a shift on,i start at 3!!!

Wonderful video, brought back memories! If I'm right, trains for Leeds and Normanton used to leave about 6.00pm from York way back when. I remember being in a race between them once - extremely exciting until there was a great lurch to the left as we entered Burton Salmon station (or was it Church Fenton). After that we slowed down a bit! I also seem to remember that we were on adjacent tracks?

Just realised what day it was-i wasn't at work,i was still on holiday.D'oh!!! :x Fine bit of video i must say.Amazing how addictive You Tube can be!!

That is a great video. The closest us young ones will get to a steam mainline. Thanks for recording and sharing that really evocative. Great sports by the crews all round.
