A day at the North Norfolk Railway Gala 03.09.2011.

Hi,
I went to the North Norfolk Railway for the day on 03.09.11.
The engines in steam were, British Railways 9F, 92203, Black Prince, Great Eastern Railway J15, 65462, London Transport Pannier Tank, L99, Great Western Railway 56xx, 5619, LMS Ivatt 4MT, 43106, LMS Stanier 5MT (Black 5), 45305, Hunslet Austerity 3777, masquerading as BR 68030. That LT red Pannier takes me back to the early days on the Worth Valley.

Nice pictures. Well done.

Even I (vaguely) remember the red Pannier "Duck" at Haworth! Although it makes quite a few appearances in the Railway Children. It was later that I would have seen it (late 70s).

The pannier was repainted in a sort of faded orange colour for the Railway Children which it briefly regained in the '90s. It was, however, a TV star in red for "Last of the Summer Wine."

Incidentally, Bachmann have just brought out a model of L89 in LT red - lovely, just right.

Ah, nostalgia....
