Yes "Emperor of the North" is one of my relatively recent discoveries - I rented it last year. Yes another little-known Borgnine movie worth watching! I heard an interview with him a few weeks ago - he is still acting, but I doubt he is jumping from car to car pushing hobos off the train!

stuck for words .. not going to get going about film's as I was stuck behind a pair of BTH Mk1 Supas for about 20 year's then spent the remaining year's attending a pair of Kalee 19's. Then took life easy with the Kake setup and the multi screen.

G'Day Gents

I remember the TV series Casey Jones, starred Alan Hale, long time ago now! :(

I've been on the look out for a model of the 2-6-0 that Mr Ivatt brought over from the USA for use on the GNR for a while now, I think it would look nice painted up in GN colors

Speaking of American railroad modelling (or should that be modeling), check out this guy. Who knew? Well, I didn't.

I think he has been covered by both Model Railroader and one of the UK magazines. A model railroad in each house: American in his American Mansion, and East Coast Mainline (iirc) in his English one...

I have that magazine with the Rod Stewart layout feature, now correct me if I am wrong here but wasn't it bought by Rod from Barbara Marx as it previously belonged to Frank Sinatra ?
I cant see Rod having either the time or skill to construct such a layout.
I know he left his Lionel collection at one of his ranches he sold.

Did Rivarossi do a model in 0 gauge of the type of engine Casey drove?
I have two 2 rail Atlas ATSF Warbonnet livery F9As and an IHB 0-8-0 plastic non motorised kit and 41 freight vehicles. All steam era wagons except four which I bought in my ignorance, they being too modern ie no walkways. two long flatcars and two tank cars. One day I hope to aquire five or six passenger vehicles either heavyweight or streamlined. The working Buckeye couplings attracted me to the American models. I got twelve freight cars for £10 ea from the GOG E&TS
complete with Kadees.
