assistance please

Post by 52D »

Does anyone own an Industrial Railway society handbook for Lancashire. If i am so lucky can that person please look up the locomotives involved in the Fylde Water Boards reservoir construction project and see if their was an Ornstein & Koppel locomotive named JOTTO involved with the project.
If there was can you give me its works number and date of construction as well as who the loco was previously with and who it was sold on to.

I am seeking this information for an Author friend of mine and will reveal the LNER connection in a couple of months time.

Knowing this forum i shouldnt have to wait too long for information.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

There is quite a good website showing the construction of the dam which has a section on the light railways. It mentions several locomotives and states that there were 13 steam and 20 petrol simplex locos, but there is no mention of any O&K's, the loco's pictured are all british such as Peckett, Bagnall and Hunslet. There is a contact page, it might be worth seeing if the writer has any more info.

Yes ive seen the two sites and the mention of the gauge gives a bit of a clue. It is RJ im trying to help he has a photo that he cant work out, i tend to think its in Lancashire rather than Northumberland.

It wouldn't be in one of the Bowtell books on reservoir construction would it?
