Re: Signalling Failure
Slightly off Topic, but, was it really neccessary to close down the whole ECML between Doncaster & Kings Cross yesterday for about 7 hours as the result of tragic incident at Barrowby Road bridge, Grantham in which a person was hit by a train and killed.
On the London Underground this is a fairly regular occurence and seldom is the line closed for much longer than an hour, two at most.
Is this not a case of B.T.Police been somewhat disorganised or over authoritarian.
Regards,60129.

Re: Signalling Failure
That was one of two fatalities that occurred yesterday. The other one was in the Drem area where a woman stood and waited for the train to hit her. I feel deeply for both drivers. With regards to the fatality at Grantham, the 'wonderful' BBC reported this as a collision!
