I took part in something similar a few years back... the major difference was the lifting equipment though the same was mounted on barges..

I've been on a few.
The last one at Pontefract alongside the racecourse.
We took the track out on the Friday night then passed the site over to the bridge people while we carried on with a normal relay then relaid the track over the bridge on the Sunday night when they had completed their bit.

We had some gear on hire for that contract. but i was involved in the depths of GER territory when bridge was being done.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
