THE BLACK 5 APPROACH SHOT
Here,at Richards request,is my approach shot of Black5 45407 at Rose Lane,Church Fenton. As you can see,it was typical Spa weather!!Unfortunate, with it being a black loco!!

FF, in my opinion that is your best shot. I love the way the train is leaning into the curve. The colours are just right, too.
Nice atmosphere. Great photo.

Re: THE BLACK 5 APPROACH SHOT
I think it's better than your 'going away' shot you posted earlier. Maybe a little dark, but not excessively so, the colours look right to me too and the composition is good. If I'd taken it, I'd be happy with it. I don't normally like it when other people get in the shot, but that bloke on the fence, together with the driver, really add atmosphere to it.

Re: THE BLACK 5 APPROACH SHOT
Thanks fellas, that guy at the gate is a local(there are 8 cottages between the Leeds line and the Sheffield line.)Apparently he used to be a signalman at Church Fenton, and he's really nice. It's one spot where locals are sound with us.A minute after the Black5 had gone,a Leeds bound cross-country HST went through.Heaven knows what the driver thought of the open gate that was opened for a van driver patiently waiting!!
