Belated Birthday Present

Post by Malcolm »

Never again will I stand by while the women in our lives get humorously chastised for their choice of gifts to the men in their lives.
Today I received a birthday present from a long time cherished (and highly trusted) friend of mine (late because the postal service in Kuwait is non existant....crap in other words). She has sent me, from Australia via Japan, the FULL 5 DVD boxed set "Decades of Steam". This was not asked for by me...this was chosen by her unbeknownst to me......and what a bloody marvelous present. I had heard of this set, but now it is in my hands AND ON MY SCREEN. MINE.....ALL MINE!!!!! HA HA HA (deranged laughter).
Seriously though, what a treasure to have. I have only just finished watching Disk 1: 1920s. So much footage I have never seen before. Pre-grouping types of all railway companies.......including footage of NER and NBR Atlantics.....fabulous!!!.

I can recommend this set to anyone. I just wish I was free for the next 7 hours to watch the other disks. Got to pace myself. Not be greedy.

Truly excellent present......and very thoughtful. A great big thank you....and lots of hugs go to Hiromi.
