I've got a small brochure about the place somewhere. I think it was produced for an open day in the 1960s. If I can find it I'll scan it and post it here.

A nice 3 minutes & 58 seconds piece of Pathe film footage of Finsbury Park diesel depot as seen in 1960 featuring mainly Brush type 2s (class 31s) and a couple of 'Baby Deltics' along with and a passing J50 0-6-0 hauling some box vans and passing 'Clarence yard' heading north towards Finsbury Park station and no doubt bound for Ferme Park marshalling yards a mile further on. A bit further south towards the Kings Cross direction 'Top shed' still had another 3 years to go before closure and Finsbury Park diesel depot would it's self be closed in the early 1980s.

Two BTH type 1 diesels standing in the old Clarence yard sidings outside Finsbury Park diesel depot probably in the late 1960s and are probably both earmarked to work in multiple the Ashburton Grove to Blackbridge sidings (Wheathampstead) rubbish train and it's return empties. All 44 members of the class were withdrawn by 1971 with four locos being transferred into Departmental stock for a number of years before being finally scrapped in 1981 with the rest of the class being previously scrapped in 1972 with only one example of the class surviving into preservation.
