Thanks to Coronach on RMweb, I was made aware of the project to digitise Peter Handford's railway recordings from the original master tapes which were loaned from their permanent storage at the NRM.

Although I had a few of the original recordings on vinyl, and some were released on CD about 15 years ago, it is great to be able to download the mp3 files onto my laptop or iphone and play them from there.
The mp3 album equivalents are £3.50 each, and I can recommend North From Kings Cross and Great Central, amongst others.
