Small world

Post by Nortonboy »

When I was a wee lad oop north I was fascinated by a railwayman's lamp of my fathers. It had a sliding lens to allow either a white, green or red light to show. Many years have passed, I have moved house 12 times, living in the North east, south, south east and south west in the intervening time. Some weeks ago the lamp passed to me and today I took a good look at it to see if I could clean it up. Inside I found an instruction sheet with the manufacturer BARDEC and their location, Northam, Southampton. Incredibly, that is the very place I can see from the back window of the house I now live in!
This unit is fitted with a tea and/or biscuit deprivation sensor.

Hi
As a family we left Geordieland for Southampton 50 years ago.
My mother used to work there and I pass it most times I go to work (about twice a week)
